UPUA Academic Affairs Committee Legislation/Consultive Reports
There are three types of documents, legislation, and reports that the Academic Affairs Committee as a whole produces: UPUA Opinions, UPUA Resolutions, Advisory and Consultative Reports to either the University Faculty Senate, Administrative Council of Undergraduate Education, or general administrators.
1. An Opinion is any legislation that requires the UPUA to take a stance on an issue or advocate for a specific end. Opinions must be narrowly focused and detail the problem as well as a specific, best course of action. Opinions shall be formatted based upon Appendix A of the UPUA Assembly Bylaws. Opinions may be introduced and authored by any sub-committee as well as the Committee as a whole. Only UPUA Representatives have voting privileges on Opinions and the subsequent parliamentary motions made in relation thereof. Opinions shall require a majority vote for passage.

Only Representatives have voting privileges on Resolutions and the subsequent parliamentary motions made in relation thereof. Resolutions shall require a majority vote for passage.
3. Consultative Reports are legislation that expresses the AAC’s position to a academic College, administrative committee, or Unit of the UFS on a specific academic issue.
